Tooradin Playground

Judies 88 years old Auntie Beryl Maddern (nee Kernot) recalls when she was a young girl there were solid timber swings and an old seesaw at the site of the new playground.  With a cheeky grin she told Judie of a local "beau" who pushed her so high on that swing that she screamed!  She never did forgive him but always had a soft spot in her heart for that boy.  She vaguely remembers there was once a lighthouse there that has since been moved out into the bay.  Her father told her that it was his job as a youngster to manually light that lighthouse each night for the fishermen in Westernnport Bay.
