Old Tooradin Hotel

The Pub.. was demolished in 2018 after laying derelict for a number of years and is now the site of the United Fuel Station.  Beryl Maddern remembers women were absolutely forbidden from the front bar, and the town was rife with gossip when one girl (whom Beryl could not name.. wink wink), broke the rules and entered the bar!  This Hotel holds special memories for our Artist Judie, as it is where she met her now husband, Grant in 1987.

Beryl recalled that one of the first owners of the Hotel had an amazing menagerie of birds and animals in cages at the back of the pub, where the women and children could be entertained while dad had a beer, possibly on there way to or from Phillip Island. The Hotel owner also supplied hampers for the fishing parties who travelled from near and far.
